Description
The Adafruit ANO Directional Navigation and Scroll Wheel Rotary Encoder is a mechanical user interface element inspired by the original clicking scroll wheel on first-generation iPods. It offers an intuitive experience with 5 buttons (up, down, left, right, center) and a rotary encoder wheel in the center.
This product is just the encoder/button wheel element. The pin-out is unusual, so a breakout PCB is recommended for breadboard compatibility, although soldering to the pins is possible.
Features include:
- 5 directional buttons and a center button
- Rotary encoder wheel for scroll and select functionality
- Compatible with any microcontroller capable of reading pulse-code rotary encoders
Recommended accessories:
- Adafruit ANO Rotary Navigation Encoder Breakout PCB for easier microcontroller integration
- Adafruit ANO Rotary Navigation Encoder to I2C Stemma QT Adapter to add I2C connectivity
