Description

The Adafruit Capacitive Touch HAT for Raspberry Pi is a mini kit with 12 capacitive touch sensors, designed to add touch-reactive capabilities to your Raspberry Pi projects. It detects touch by sensing when a person or animal touches one of the electrodes, similar to how touchscreens and appliance control panels work.

This HAT features 12 figure-8 holes for connecting alligator clip cables, allowing you to detect touch on conductive materials like metal or water-rich items such as fruit and vegetables. Use the included Python library to detect touches, convert touches into keyboard events, or trigger audio playback.

The kit includes a Capacitive Touch HAT and a 2x20 socket header, with light soldering required to assemble. It is compatible with any Raspberry Pi that has a 2x20 connector (Model A or B, with header modification).

Key Features:

  • 12 capacitive touch sensors for interactive projects
  • Connect via alligator clips to conductive or water-rich objects
  • Includes Python library with examples for touch detection and audio playback
  • Easy to assemble kit; includes 2x20 socket header
  • Works with Raspberry Pi models with 2x20 connectors
  • Compact size: 57mm x 65mm x 3mm
  • Lightweight at 10 grams

Note: This kit does not include Raspberry Pi, alligator clips, speakers, or fruit.
