Description

The DRV2605 from TI is a specialized motor driver designed for controlling haptic motors such as buzzers and vibration motors. Unlike typical motor drivers that simply turn motors on or off, the DRV2605 allows for various effects like ramping vibration levels, click effects, and audio-synced vibrations.

This chip is controlled via I2C and supports sequencing multiple effects stored in its memory, enabling rich haptic feedback. It supports both Linear Resonance Actuator (LRA) and Eccentric Rotating Mass (ERM) motor types.

The board supports 3-5V operation, making it compatible with many microcontrollers and computers including Arduino, ESP8266, Metro, and Raspberry Pi. Adafruit provides libraries for both Arduino (C/C++) and CircuitPython (Python 3) to easily interface with the board.

Featuring SparkFun Qwiic compatible STEMMA QT connectors, the board supports solderless connections via compatible cables, ideal for a plug-and-play experience.
