Description
The Adafruit DS1307 Real Time Clock Breakout Board is a battery-backed RTC that allows your microcontroller to keep accurate time even when the device is powered off or reprogrammed. This popular RTC module is perfect for datalogging, time stamping, clock-building, timers, and alarms.
This board requires 5V power and has been tested successfully with 5V power and 3.3V logic. It comes fully assembled and ready to use, including PCB & header. It plugs into any standard breadboard or can be connected with wires, featuring two mounting holes for convenience.
Important: This product does not include the required CR1220 coin cell battery (recommended to purchase separately).
- Battery-backed real time clock for reliable timekeeping
- Requires 5V power; compatible with 3.3V logic when powered at 5V
- Fully assembled breakout including PCB and header
- Easy breadboard or wired connection
- Two mounting holes for easy installation
- Keeps time for 5 years or more on battery
The DS1307 is simple and cost-effective but not highly precise, potentially losing or gaining up to 2 seconds a day. For a higher precision RTC, consider the DS3231 or PCF8523 boards offered by Adafruit.
