Description
By customer request, this is a DS2484 Stemma QT board that uses an I2C-to-1W controller chip, with ESD protection and support for split supplies. Easily connect it to an existing I2C bus and then use the screw terminals to attach multiple DS18B20 sensors, or pair it with our 1-Wire chaining breakouts for advanced experimentation.
The 1-Wire protocol uses a single data wire plus a ground wire (and an optional power wire) to connect multiple sensors or memory chips that share the same bus. It is popular for DS18B20 temperature sensors due to long wire support and easy chaining. While some microcontrollers can bit-bang 1-Wire, this adapter enables 1-Wire use over I2C for devices without native 1-Wire support, including desktop computers and SBCs.
This breakout board is designed in the STEMMA QT form factor, compatible with STEMMA QT connectors and SparkFun Qwiic I2C connectors, allowing solderless connections between your board and sensors using compatible cables.
The board can be powered from the STEMMA QT cable at 3V or 5V. If a different voltage is needed on the 1-Wire power pin, the onboard trace can be cut to inject the desired voltage at the terminal block.
