Description

Easy e-paper finally comes to Raspberry Pi with this bonnet designed to make it easy to add any 'standard' pinout 24-pin flex-connector E-Ink display. This add-on handles all the extra components needed for easy E-Paper interfacing with Pi and Pi-compatible boards. It includes extras like two user buttons, a Stemma QT I2C port, and a 3W I2S speaker for audio playback.

The electronic paper display stays on even when power is disconnected, offering high contrast and excellent daylight readability, resembling printed paper.

Note: This product does not include the raw electronic paper display itself. Adafruit stocks a variety of bare displays compatible with this bonnet. Verify that the display matches the driver chip and consider using extender cables if the display cable is short.

Compatible with any Raspberry Pi with a 2x20 connector, including Pi B+, Pi 2, Pi 3, Pi 4, Pi 5, and Pi Zero. For cases that require clearance, a 2x20 socket riser is recommended.

The bonnet includes a MAX98357 3W 4-8Ω speaker driver with digital I2S input, allowing audio alerts and feedback. A 4-8Ω speaker can be connected to the terminal blocks to use the amplifier.

Additional features include a Qwiic/STEMMA QT connector for I2C sensors and devices.
