Description
Enhance your QT Py or Xiao microcontroller projects with the Adafruit I2S Amplifier BFF Add-On, a compact 3 Watt amplifier designed to attach to the back of your miniature dev board. This high-quality audio amplifier uses just three GPIO pins that don't interfere with I2C/UART or SPI ports, delivering stereo mix output with 9 dB gain for clear sound.
The board features a MAX98357 audio amplifier and a picoblade-compatible connector for easy speaker connection. It supports 4 or 8 ohm speakers and is compatible with ESP32 series, nRF52840, and RP2040 chipset boards via pins A0 (audio data), A1 (word select clock), and A2 (bit clock). Note: It does not support the ATSAMD21 original QT Py without modification.
This add-on comes assembled and tested, designed for soldering or removable installation using headers. It pairs perfectly with a Molex PicoBlade 2-pin cable and a recommended 3W 4 ohm speaker for immediate audio projects. Multiple Arduino, CircuitPython, and MicroPython libraries are available to interface with the amplifier.
