Description

The Adafruit LPS22 is an absolute pressure sensor based on the ST LPS22HB sensor, designed to accurately measure atmospheric pressure ranging from 260 to 1260 hPa. Perfect for weather monitoring or altitude detection, this sensor offers 24-bit pressure data output at up to 75 Hz update rates.

This is the world's smallest sensor of its kind (2x2mm), widely used in wearables and watches where space is limited. It provides high accuracy with 0.1 hPa precision after one-point calibration.

The sensor is mounted on a breakout board with level shifting circuitry and a voltage regulator, supporting both 3.3V and 5V logic levels, making it compatible with devices like Raspberry Pi and Arduino. STEMMA QT / Qwiic connectors enable easy plug-and-play I2C connection without soldering.

Adafruit provides Arduino and CircuitPython libraries along with example code to facilitate quick implementation.

  • Pressure range: 260 to 1260 hPa with 24-bit data output
  • High overpressure capability (20x full scale)
  • Embedded temperature compensation
  • Supports I2C and SPI interfaces
  • 3-5V power and logic level compatible
  • STEMMA QT / Qwiic connectors for easy wiring
  • High shock survivability: 22,000 g
  • Small 2x2mm sensor size
