Add high-quality motion, direction, and orientation sensing to your Arduino project with this all-in-one 9 Degree of Freedom (9-DoF) sensor with sensors from ST. This breakout board contains two chips side-by-side to provide 9 degrees of full-motion data.
The board includes an LSM6DSOX, a 6-DoF IMU accelerometer + gyro. The 3-axis accelerometer detects direction towards Earth or acceleration in 3D space. The 3-axis gyroscope measures spin and twist with low gyro zero rate and noise, making it excellent for orientation fusion with less drift and faster responses.
LSM6DSOX offers flexible data rates and ranges: ±2/±4/±8/±16 g for accelerometer at 1.6 Hz to 6.7 kHz; ±125/±250/±500/±1000/±2000 dps for gyroscope at 12.5 Hz to 6.7 kHz. Features include tap detection, activity detection, pedometer/step counter, and a programmable finite state machine with machine learning core.
It also features a LIS3MDL 3-axis magnetometer for detecting magnetic north, completing the 9 degrees of freedom for orientation. The sensors are on a compact breakout with voltage regulation and level-shifted inputs for 3V or 5V systems. Only I2C interface and interrupts are exposed for simplicity.
Includes SparkFun Qwiic-compatible STEMMA QT connectors for I2C, allowing plug-and-play connection without soldering. Libraries are available for Arduino integration. The board has four mounting holes for secure placement.
