Description

Adafruit LTC4316 I2C Address Translator provides a solution to I2C address conflicts by performing on-the-fly address translation using XOR bitwise math. This breakout board features the LTC4316 chip and is designed in the STEMMA QT form factor, allowing easy, solderless connections via compatible Qwiic/STEMMA QT connectors.

Key points include:

  • Transforms I2C device addresses dynamically to resolve conflicts
  • Includes two DIP switches for adjusting address translation options – flipping bits A6, A5, and A4
  • Supports up to 4 translation options; additional options possible by soldering a resistor
  • Uses STEMMA QT / Qwiic connectors compatible with a wide range of sensors and accessories
  • Compact size: 25.2mm x 17.7mm x 5.8mm with a lightweight of 1.9g
  • Note: Does not support clock-stretching; not suitable for all I2C devices

The board is ideal for projects involving multiple sensors sharing I2C addresses, allowing seamless integration without complex software multiplexing.

STEMMA QT cables are not included but available separately.
