Description
Bend all audio files to your will with the Adafruit Music Maker FeatherWing + Amplifier! This compact FeatherWing features the VS1053 codec chip, capable of decoding a wide variety of audio formats including MP3, AAC, Ogg Vorbis, WMA, MIDI, FLAC, and WAV (PCM and ADPCM). Enjoy digital adjustment of bass, treble, and volume via a lightweight SPI interface that allows any Feather Board to play audio directly from an SD card.
Thanks to the onboard 3 Watt class D stereo amplifier, you can power 4 ohm speakers (up to 3W) or 8 ohm speakers (up to 1W) with ease. There's even a special MIDI mode that enables the chip to act as a synth/drum machine by reading classic MIDI data from the UART TX pin, featuring dozens of built-in drum and sample effects.
Perfect for enhancing your Feather microcontroller projects with powerful audio capabilities, the Music Maker FeatherWing supports multiple Feather Boards such as ATmega32u4, ATSAMD M0, ESP8266, WICED Teensy 3, and nRF52. Some light soldering is required to attach the included through-hole headers and terminal blocks to the PCB, enabling connections to your Feather Board and speakers.
