Adafruit NeoPixel Driver BFF Add-On for QT Py and Xiao

Our QT Py boards are a great way to make very small microcontroller projects that pack a ton of power. The Adafruit NeoPixel Driver BFF add-on allows you to quickly add a strand of NeoPixels with a 5V level shifter and a detachable JST PH connector. This is perfect for tiny wearable, cosplay, or IoT projects that feature dazzling LEDs.

The NeoPixel Driver BFF acts as a 'Best Friend Forever' to your QT Py, providing power and support to drive NeoPixel strips, rings, and panels. It is designed to fit on the back of any QT Py or Xiao board, and can be soldered or connected with pin and socket headers for removability.

Key features include an onboard 74AHCT125 single-gate level shifter that shifts the data signal from pin A3 to 5V using USB power as reference. USB power, ground, and shifted data are output to a JST PH 2mm 3-pin connector allowing easy connection to NeoPixel LEDs.

If using NeoPixel strips with built-in JST PH connectors, you can plug them directly for instant lighting. Alternatively, for strips with JST SH connectors, you can use a JST-PH-to-female-header cable.

Note that the JST PH connectors are rated for about 2 Amps, so power should be limited to around 30-60 NeoPixels at full white brightness to avoid overloading.
