Description
PowerBoost 1000 Basic is the ideal power supply for power-hungry portable projects. This DC/DC boost converter module can run from 1.8V batteries or higher and convert that voltage to a steady 5.2V DC supply for powering 5V projects.
Featuring a robust 4A DC/DC converter, it provides 1A+ from as low as 2V, ideal for powering your Arduino, Raspberry Pi, BeagleBone, or similar devices. The output voltage is slightly boosted to 5.2V to provide headroom for long cables, high power draw, or adding a diode, while staying safe for all 5V electronics.
Key benefits and features include:
- TPS61030 boost converter from TI with low battery detection, 4A internal switch, synchronous conversion, excellent efficiency, and high-frequency 700KHz operation.
- Enable pin allowing synchronous operation to completely disconnect output when grounded, turning off the output.
- The ability to supply 1000mA+ from 1.8V, 1500mA+ from 2 NiMH/Alkaline batteries, and 2000mA+ from a 3.7V LiPoly/LiIon or 3 NiMH/Alkaline batteries, ensuring robust power delivery.
- Low battery indicator LED lights red below 3.2V, optimized for LiPo/LiIon battery use.
- Onboard 1000mA charge-rate 'Apple/iOS' data resistors for fast charging iPhone, iPod, and compatible iPads.
- Full breakout pins for battery input, control signals, and power output.
- High efficiency (>90%) operation, with low quiescent current (5mA enabled, 20µA disabled).
- Includes one assembled and tested PCB, a loose 2-PH JST jack, 2-pin terminal block, and a loose USB A jack.
For more convenience, solder the USB A jack to power your project from USB, then choose between the JST or terminal block for battery input. Terminal blocks included may be blue or black.
