Description
The Adafruit PyBadge LC is a compact, credit card-sized development board designed for MakeCode Arcade, CircuitPython, or Arduino programming. Powered by the ATSAMD51J19 microcontroller running at 120MHz, it features 512KB of flash and 192KB of RAM. The board includes 2 MB of QSPI flash for storing images, fonts, sounds, and game assets.
This low cost version pares down some features from the original PyBadge to reduce price while retaining core functionality. It lacks Feather headers, JST STEMMA connectors, an accelerometer, and optional speaker connector. Instead of five NeoPixels, it has one NeoPixel on the front center.
Key features include:
- 1.8" 160x128 color TFT display with dimmable backlight and fast DMA support
- 8 silicone-top gaming buttons arranged as a d-pad, menu, and action buttons
- Single NeoPixel for visual activity feedback
- Front-facing light sensor
- Built-in buzzer mini-speaker
- LiPoly battery port with recharging capability
- On/off switch to save power
- Micro USB port for power, programming, and battery charging
The board is ideal for budget-conscious makers who want to create games and interactive projects using popular platforms like MakeCode Arcade, CircuitPython, or Arduino with Adafruit Arcada library support.
