Description
Add short-hop wireless communication to your Feather boards with the Adafruit Radio FeatherWing featuring the RFM69HCW 900MHz module. This add-on board utilizes packetized FSK/GFSK/MSK/GMSK/OOK radio, providing reliable wireless communication in the 868 or 915 MHz ISM bands, suitable for use in Americas ITU 2 license-free ISM or amateur applications with appropriate permissions.
This FeatherWing is powered by the SX1231 module with an SPI interface and supports software configurable frequency. It offers up to +20 dBm transmit power, enabling communication ranges of approximately 350 meters line of sight, and possibly up to 5 km with directional antennas and configuration optimizations. The module supports encrypted communication with AES-128 and multiple node addressing for multipoint networks.
Compatible with Feather ESP8266, Feather 32u4, WICED Feather, Teensy 3 Feather, and Feather M0 series, the FeatherWing requires some wiring adjustments for specific chipsets. The board comes with headers that require soldering and a small wire antenna needs to be attached or optionally use a uFL or SMA edge-mount connector with an external antenna.
