Description
The Adafruit STEMMA Audio Amp is a super small mono amplifier that delivers up to 2.5 Watts into 4-8 ohm speakers. It features a class D controller running from 2.0V to 5.5VDC and is over 90% efficient, making it ideal for portable and battery-powered projects.
This amplifier includes built-in thermal and over-current protection, and a volume trim pot for adjusting the default 24dB gain. It is a plug-and-play board with no soldering required, using a JST-PH 3 Pin connector for audio input.
The output is bridge-tied, driving speakers directly with a high-frequency 250KHz PWM. Comes fully assembled with header pins and a 3.5mm screw terminal block for easy speaker attachment (speaker not included).
- Output Power: 2.5W at 4Ω, 10% THD; 1.5W at 8Ω, 10% THD, at 5.5V supply
- 50dB PSRR at 1KHz
- Filterless design with ferrite bead and capacitors on output
- Fixed 24dB gain with onboard trim potentiometer
- Thermal and short-circuit/over-current protection
- Low current draw: 4mA quiescent, 0.5mA in shutdown
Note: Terminal block may be blue or black.
