Description

The TMP117 Precision Temperature Sensor is an I2C temperature sensor designed for precise and easy temperature measurement and monitoring in your projects. It supports high measurement resolution of 16-bit / 0.0078°C, operates over a temperature range of -55°C to 155°C, and offers high accuracy with up to ±0.1°C.

This sensor can monitor temperature and alert you when temperatures fall outside your set parameters, with built-in high and low temperature alerts, and interrupt support. It also features hardware support necessary for NIST traceability, making it ideal for sensitive applications such as thermostats, cold chain asset tracking, and gas or heat meters.

The TMP117 sensor has different accuracy levels depending on the temperature range, as follows:

  • ±0.1°C (maximum) from –20°C to +50°C
  • ±0.15°C (maximum) from –40°C to +70°C
  • ±0.2°C (maximum) from –40°C to +100°C
  • ±0.25°C (maximum) from –55°C to +125°C
  • ±0.3°C (maximum) from –55°C to +150°C

To facilitate easy integration, the TMP117 is mounted on a breakout PCB in Adafruit's Stemma QT form factor, with added circuitry for testing options. It is compatible with breadboards and also with SparkFun qwiic/STEMMA QT connectors. It operates at both 3.3V and 5V logic levels, making it suitable for common boards like Arduinos and Raspberry Pi.

Note: STEMMA QT cable is not included but available separately.

For detailed wiring instructions and libraries, please refer to the Adafruit TMP117 High Accuracy I2C Temperature Monitor guide.
