Description

The Adafruit TRRS Trinkey is a compact and flexible USB key designed specifically for assistive technology hackers and creators. It combines a USB key and a TRRS breakout to provide a low-cost but highly adaptable device ideal for creating custom switch or variable input devices using 3.5mm audio jacks.

Key features include an ATSAMD21E18 32-bit Cortex M0+ microcontroller running at 48 MHz with 256KB Flash and 32KB RAM, native USB support compatible with every OS, and a TRRS jack connecting all 6 pins (tip, ring 1, ring 2, sleeve, and two switches) to GPIO pins for extensive input options.

The board supports programming via Arduino IDE or CircuitPython, with capabilities such as USB serial console, MIDI, HID keyboard/mouse, and USB mass storage for Python scripts. The included RGB NeoPixel LED provides status indication, and a reset button facilitates entering bootloader mode. A STEMMA QT port allows additional I2C device integration or more inputs.
