Adafruit USB Type C Plug Breakout

Throw out all those Mini and Micro B USB cables you have in a plastic bin - the next generation of USB connectors is here with USB C! USB C connectors are the new standard, featuring a symmetric and reversible design, more data pins, and higher current output capability. This breakout board gives you all the basics needed plus a resistor configuration to ensure 5V power delivery.

This breakout uses a plug with a semi-through hole mounting configuration for mechanical stability; however, it should not be bent purposefully like a Type A.

Features a 5.1K resistor on the CC1 pin to communicate to the upstream port for 5V at up to 1.5A, depending on the power source.

Unlike USB Type C sockets, this plug side intentionally uses only one set of D+/D-/CC pins to signal cable orientation. Connections on this breakout correspond to the 'A' side data pins.

For most uses, connect VBUS to 5V input, GND to ground, and D+ and D- as usual.
