Description
The Audio Adapter Board allows you to add high-quality 16 bit, 44.1 kHz (CD quality) audio to your projects using a Teensy 3.2, 3.5, or 3.6 microcontroller. It supports stereo headphone and stereo line-level output, as well as stereo line-level input or mono microphone input.
The board includes the SGTL5000 audio chip which connects to the Teensy via 7 signals including I2C pins (SDA and SCL) for controlling the chip, and I2S signals for audio data transmission (TX and RX), with three clock signals (LRCLK, BCLK, MCLK) generated by the Teensy 3.1. The SGTL5000 operates in peripheral mode with all clock pins as inputs.
This updated revision includes pullup resistors for the SD card and optional SPI flash chip, increased capacitor values for better low-frequency signals, and options to reconfigure the board via trace cuts and joins—all fully compatible with previous software versions.
Note: This product does not include the Teensy microcontroller. If you have a Teensy 4.0, please use the Audio Adapter Board designed specifically for Teensy 4.0.
