Description
This is a compact 5" TFT display featuring WVGA 800x480 resolution, designed for embedded computing applications. Note that this display is NOT TOUCHSCREEN.
The display has a visible area of 5" diagonal (108mm x 65mm) in a 16:10 aspect ratio and uses a 'raw' TTL interface common in portable electronics. It includes a driver board supporting HDMI, VGA, and Composite (NTSC/PAL) video inputs.
The display is powered via a 5 to 12V DC adapter (not included) connected through a 2.1mm center-positive DC jack. Connect a digital video source to one of the inputs and the display will show the video output. It auto-detects input signals and has a small wired PCB with buttons for adjusting brightness, color, and contrast through an on-screen menu.
This display is suitable for Raspberry Pi and other devices with HDMI, VGA, or NTSC/PAL outputs. It does not work with devices outputting DVI without a DVI to HDMI converter, nor with SECAM signals. It is not an IPS screen and is best viewed directly; for wider angles, see Adafruit's 7" and 10" HDMI IPS displays.
The HDMI 4 Pi 5" Display is RoHS compliant and not HDCP compatible, so it cannot use secured HDMI sources.
