Description
This breakout board will solve all your current-monitoring problems. Instead of struggling with a multimeter, you can just use the handy INA169 chip on this breakout to measure DC current draw and have an analog output referenced to ground. This makes it ideal for feedback-loop control.
Unlike most current-measuring devices which are only good for low-side measuring, this chip can handle high-side current measuring up to +60VDC, avoiding ground reference issues in electronics.
A precision amplifier measures the voltage across the 0.1 ohm, 1% sense resistor rated for 2W continuous, allowing measurements up to +5A continuous. The output voltage is 1V per Amp through the onboard 10K resistor. You can modify the output voltage per Amp by changing the load resistor.
The board includes a 5-pin header for breadboard connection and a pre-soldered 3.5mm terminal plug for easy load attachment. Use with 2.7-60V power supply, connect V+ to the high side of the power supply and V- to grounded load. Measure the output voltage with a multimeter to read the current.
