The Kitronik Learning To Solder LED Kit, Pack of 25, is an ideal low-cost solution for teaching soldering in classrooms or after school clubs. This comprehensive pack contains all the parts and PCBs required for a class size of 25 students and includes a 9V battery for testing.
Each pack comprises 25 PCBs, 100 100-ohm resistors, 25 red 5mm diffused LEDs (275mCd), and a 9V Zinc Chloride PP3 battery.
We also provide a detailed step-by-step soldering guide covering equipment, soldering techniques, de-soldering, wire preparation, good and bad solder joints, PCB repair, and component information. This guide serves as a complete lesson plan aid.
Using this kit, each student will solder four resistors and one LED onto their PCB and then test their assembly by connecting it to the included 9V battery. The battery pads on the PCB are shaped to match the battery terminals, simplifying correct battery placement.
