Description
The Kitronik Solar Torch Kit is a through-hole soldering kit designed for KS3 Design and Technology lessons. This educational kit introduces students to electronics, soldering, and renewable energy by building a solar-powered torch. It is suitable for use as a standalone project or as part of a larger product design assignment including enclosure design. The torch’s circuit consists of energy storage and usage sections, charging capacitors via a solar cell and illuminating an LED with stored energy. The PCB includes features to attach the torch to a keyring with sticky pads and has 4 M3 mounting holes for secure enclosure fixings.
- Learn about soldering, electronics, and renewable energy with one kit.
- Compact design allows carrying on a keyring.
- PCB includes mounting holes for secure fixing.
- Ideal for introducing electronics construction in classroom lessons.
- Can be integrated into broader product design and renewable energy projects.
