Display meaningful output from your micro:bit project with the Kitronik :VIEW Graphics128 OLED display.
The Kitronik :VIEW Graphics128 OLED display adds a monochrome 128×64 display to the BBC micro:bit. The onboard edge connector allows the micro:bit to slot into the board without additional fixings. It features a micro:bit style I/O connector allowing integration with other micro:bit accessories that have a micro:bit slot. All pins from the BBC micro:bit are available through edge pads, providing full micro:bit functionality with an added display. No tools, fixings, or soldering are required.
Kitronik has provided custom blocks and example code for MakeCode and MicroPython, available through the editor extensions and GitHub repositories.
The board requires a 3V supply, can be powered via the edge connector or micro:bit, and features a power indicator LED. It has a maximum power draw of 40mA when every display pixel is turned on.
The display uses the SSD1306 driver on an I2C interface. Breakout pads for I2C lines, ground, and 3V power are provided on a 2.54mm pitch for easy wiring or jumper cables. It is also possible to change the default I2C address (refer to the datasheet for details).
