Description
Turn any surface, wall, or table into a speaker with this Large Surface Transducer. Unlike conventional speakers with moving cones, this transducer uses a metal rod wrapped with a voice coil that expands and contracts to create sound when current is applied, turning the attached surface into a resonant speaker.
This 45mm diameter transducer has a 4Ω impedance and is rated for 5 watts. It's heavier and larger than the medium surface transducer, allowing it to lay top-down on a table or be placed at the end of a plastic cup to direct sound. It works excellently with various Adafruit audio amplifiers such as the TS2012 breakout, MAX98306, or a 20W amplifier (use low gain to avoid overdriving).
- Diameter: 45mm (1.8")
- Height: 27mm (1")
- Wire Length: 120mm (4.7")
- Impedance: 4Ω
- Power Rating: 5W
- Weight: 174g
- Wires pre-soldered for easy connection
Note: As of July 10, 2018, the transducer no longer has a rubber pad on the transducing element and the arm length has increased.
Perfect for creative audio projects where you want to convert ordinary surfaces into speakers.
