Description

Add a cool touch-screen rotary dial to your next build with the M5Stack M5Dial. This versatile embedded development board integrates a 1.28-inch round TFT touchscreen, rotary encoder, RFID detection module, RTC circuit, buzzer, and under-screen 'selection' button for creative smart home control applications.

The M5Dial's main controller is the M5StampS3, based on the ESP32-S3 chip known for high performance and low power consumption, supporting Wi-Fi and multiple peripheral interfaces including SPI, I2C, UART, and ADC. The new v1.1 model features the upgraded StampS3A controller for improved processing power and wireless stability.

The rotary encoder accurately tracks knob position and direction, allowing intuitive control of settings like volume, brightness, and menu options, as well as home applications such as lighting, air conditioning, and curtains. The TFT display presents various interaction colors and effects.

Compact and lightweight, the M5Dial suits smart home and industrial automation applications. RFID detection at 13.56MHz enables access control, identity verification, and payments. The onboard RTC circuit ensures accurate timekeeping, complemented by a buzzer and physical button for device prompts and wake-up.

Power options include 6-36V DC input via USB-C or DC interface, plus a battery port with built-in charging circuit for Lithium batteries. Expansion is possible through reserved PORTA and PORTB interfaces supporting I2C and GPIO, facilitating connection of sensors, actuators, and displays.
