Description

These small but highly readable monochrome OLED displays measure about 1" diagonal, offering a crisp, high-contrast 128x32 pixel resolution. The white OLED pixels are individually controlled by the SSD1306 driver chip that communicates via SPI.

The OLED display requires a 3.3V power supply and logic levels. To ease integration with 5V microcontrollers such as Arduino, a 3.3V regulator and level shifter is included on the board. The power consumption depends on the number of pixels lit, averaging about 20mA from the 3.3V supply. The integrated charge pump converts 3.3V to the high voltage needed by the OLEDs.

Key features include:

  • 0.91" diagonal screen size with 128x32 monochrome pixels
  • Utilizes SSD1306 driver with SPI interface
  • Built-in 3.3V regulator and level shifter for compatibility
  • High contrast OLED eliminates the need for a backlight
  • Low average current consumption (~20mA)
  • PCB measures 23mm x 33mm x 5mm with mounting holes

The display comes with detailed tutorials and an Arduino library available on GitHub (Adafruit SSD1306 Library), supporting text and graphics rendering.

Important usage note: OLED pixels have limited lifespan; keeping pixels continuously lit for extended periods can cause dimming. It is advised to turn off the display when not in use.
