P-channel Power MOSFET - TO-220 Package - 25A / 60V

When you need to switch a lot of power, P-channel MOSFETs are best for the job. This P-FET can switch over 60V and 25A (with proper heat-sinking) and comes in a TO-220 package that fits nicely into breadboards or perfboards. The low Rds(on) of down to 70 milliohms depending on Vgs means you might not need a heatsink for high loads.

The TO-220 package can dissipate up to 2 Watts without a heat sink at room temperature. With an Rds of less than 100 milliohms at 5V-12V logic, it can switch about 10 Amperes without a heat sink, or more with PWM control. The threshold voltage is up to 5V for 20A of current, enabling direct control from a 5V microcontroller.
