Description

The Raspberry Pi Pico RP2040 is a low-cost microcontroller board featuring the powerful RP2040 chip with dual ARM Cortex-M0+ cores running at 133MHz, 264kB SRAM, and 2MB external QSPI flash memory.

This variant comes with two 20-pin loose 0.1" unsoldered headers that you can solder for use in breadboards or perfboards. The board measures just 51.3 mm x 21 mm x 3.9 mm making it perfect for embedded electronics projects.

Key features include:

  • Dual ARM Cortex-M0+ cores @ 133MHz
  • 264kB on-chip SRAM
  • 2MB external QSPI flash memory
  • 30 GPIO pins with 26 available for use (3 analog inputs)
  • 2 UARTs, 2 SPI controllers, 2 I2C controllers, 16 PWM channels
  • USB 1.1 controller and PHY with host and device support
  • 8 programmable I/O (PIO) state machines for custom protocols
  • BOOTSEL button to enter USB bootloader mode
  • Runs MicroPython, CircuitPython, C/C++, Arduino support

The board uses 3.3V logic and all GPIO pins are 3.3V tolerant but not 5V safe. Its unique PIO subsystem allows for easy creation of custom hardware interfaces like NeoPixel LEDs, I2S audio, and more.

You can program the board by holding the BOOTSEL button while plugging it into USB to enter bootloader mode and drag and drop UF2 firmware.
