Description
If you need to add a panel-mount connection for telephone-interfacing projects but don't want to cut a custom hole, the RJ-12 or RJ-11 Telephone Round Panel Mount Plug is the fastest solution to panel-ify your phone kit.
About 30mm in diameter, you can easily drill a round hole in wood, plastic, or metal using a standard hole saw or bit. Simply unscrew the plastic nut, insert the plug, then re-attach to create a pass-through RJ-12 jack.
Note: RJ-11 and RJ-12 use the same connector. RJ-11 uses 4 wires, RJ-12 uses 6 wires. This adapter is compatible with either but not with RJ-45 Ethernet jacks or plugs, which are larger and have more contacts.
Designed to attach to a panel up to 16mm thick (0.625 inches) or as thin as a few millimeters, it is perfect for adding a port to your project enclosure. The solid body and forgiving plastic lip hide the drilled hole for a clean finish.
