Description
The SEGGER J-Link EDU is a powerful hardware debugger designed for ARM-based platforms, identical to the more expensive J-Link BASE model but intended strictly for non-commercial educational use.
This USB-based debugger supports both JTAG (ARM7/9/11) and SWD (ARM Cortex) interfaces with compatibility across a wide spectrum of ARM cores including ARM7/9/11, Cortex-A5/A8/A9, Cortex-M0/M0+/M1/M3/M4, and Cortex-R4.
Key features include:
- High-speed USB connection with an internal MCU for faster debugging compared to FTDI-based debuggers.
- Vendor and toolchain neutrality supporting GDB-based debugging and flash programming on Linux, Windows, and Mac through the free GDB Server.
- Compatibility with major IDEs like Keil, IAR Atmel Studio, and Crossworks for ARM.
- Preloaded flash programming algorithms for numerous MCUs, continuously updated by SEGGER.
- Fast execution of breakpoints and flash programming.
The EDU version is limited for use strictly in non-profit educational purposes and personal projects; commercial uses require the purchase of the full J-Link BASE debugger.
Included in the package:
- J-Link EDU with standard 20-pin 0.1" male connector
- 20-pin 0.1" target ribbon cable
- USB cable
Note: This product is no longer stocked by Adafruit. A recommended alternative is the SEGGER J-Link EDU Mini - JTAG/SWD Debugger.
