Kali Linux, a Debian-derived Linux distribution preferred for penetration testing by ethical hackers has launched kali distribution for Raspberry Pi 4. After Kali tweeted about releasing its distribution for newly launched Raspberry Pi 4, there was an excitement in the Raspberry Pi community. As Kali’s official website in a blog writes:
“We love the Raspberry Pi, and judging by the response we got to a late night tweet we sent out last weekend a lot of you love the Pi too!
Because of that, when the Pi 4 dropped we wanted to get Kali supported on it right away.”
However, Kali is available in 32-bit only the 64-bit release is expected to release in the near future. The Kali Linux ARM images can be found at -

- On-board Wifi Monitor Mode
- Frame injection support
The method of installation of Kali Linux on your Raspberry Pi 4 is the same as the previous release of Kali had for previous versions of Raspberry Pi. For booting your Raspberry Pi 4 with Kali Linux, follow the installation instructions -

Kali Linux has been always known for its privacy and security. It is the most popular Linux distribution in the Ethical hacking community widely used in penetration testing. Running on the Raspberry Pi 4, there can be certainly some problems with the initial release but it will be exciting to see how popular Kali becomes in the Raspberry Pi community.

It Kali is based on Debian, how does it make Kali preferable for “ethical” hacking?
