Add some flair to your project with this vibrant 2.8" color touchscreen LCD! Featuring a bright display with a 240x320 resolution and 18-bit color, this TFT screen boasts individual RGB pixel control for stunning visuals—much higher resolution than typical black-and-white 128x64 displays. The screen also comes with a built-in resistive touchscreen, allowing you to detect finger presses anywhere on the display. (If you prefer, we also offer a version with a capacitive touchscreen.)

Technical Details:

  • Interface: Choose between an 8-bit digital interface (with 12 pins) or SPI mode (using just 4 pins for data and control). Both modes are compatible with 3.3V or 5V logic (e.g., Arduino).
  • Onboard Power Regulation: Includes a 3.3V @ 150mA LDO regulator for stable power supply.
  • Backlight: 4 white LEDs provide bright backlighting, and you can PWM dim the backlight through a transistor.
  • Touchscreen: Features a 4-wire resistive touchscreen for user interaction.
  • MicroSD Card Slot: Use the onboard microSD card socket to display images (microSD card not included, but any will work).
  • Headers: Includes 1x20 headers for easy breadboarding.
  • Dimensions: Thickness of 7.9mm (0.3") and a weight of 40g.

This display has a built-in controller with RAM buffering, so your microcontroller doesn’t need to handle all the work. You can choose between two modes: 8-bit mode (which requires 12 pins) for faster performance, or SPI mode (with just 5 pins) for simpler wiring but slightly slower speeds. You’ll also need 4 pins to connect the resistive touchscreen (2 digital, 2 analog), or you can use a separate touchscreen controller (sold separately) for I2C connection.

We’ve made it easy to integrate this display into your project with a breakout board offering both SPI and 8-bit interface options, along with high-speed level shifters for 3-5V compatibility. For SPI mode users, the microSD slot allows you to display images directly from the card.

To make your life even easier, we’ve provided open-source graphics libraries for both the 8-bit and SPI interfaces. These libraries can handle drawing pixels, lines, rectangles, circles, text, and more. Additionally, our touchscreen library can detect x, y, and pressure (z), with example code to get you started in no time.

Follow our step-by-step guide to wire the display, load the code, and start drawing in under 15 minutes!

For those using Arduino-shaped microcontrollers, check out our TFT shield version of this display, which also includes SPI control and a touchscreen controller.

With this colorful, interactive LCD screen, your projects will shine with vibrant graphics and easy touchscreen control!
