This Mini Panel-Mountable HDMI Monitor is a compact, plug-and-play display designed to easily integrate with any computer featuring HDMI output. Its small form factor makes it perfect for embedded projects and easy to mount to cases or rails.

Key Features:

  • TFP401 Decoder: Equipped with a TFP401 DVI/HDMI decoder from TI, this display supports unencrypted video and outputs raw 24-bit color pixel data (HDCP is not supported).
  • 7" Display: Offers a resolution of 800x480, providing enough screen space for most software while maintaining a portable size ideal for compact or embedded projects.
  • USB Power: The display can be powered via a USB port. The 7" display with 150mA backlight current draws 600mA. Reducing the backlight to half-brightness lowers the current draw to 400mA, and with the backlight off, the display draws only 250mA.
  • Backlight Control: Includes a PWM input for adjusting backlight brightness. Connect it to a microcontroller or PWM output for customizable brightness control.
  • Two Versions: Available in video-only and video+touch versions. This version is video-only and does not include touch screen functionality.
  • Ideal for SBCs: Perfect for single-board computers (SBCs) like Raspberry Pi or BeagleBone Black, or any device with DVI/HDMI output. The display can be powered via USB if the port provides 600mA, and video is input through the HDMI port.
  • No Video Scaling: The TFP401 decoder chip does not include a video scaler, so it will not resize or shrink video content.

Technical Specifications:

  • Dimensions: 165mm x 102mm x 14mm (6.5" x 4" x 0.6")
  • Weight: 192g
  • Datasheets & CAD files: Available for download on the tutorial page

This display is a perfect solution for projects requiring a small, low-power screen that connects easily to HDMI-compatible devices, making it an ideal choice for embedded systems, prototypes, and portable devices.
