Description
These hinged momentary step switches are evocative of the 16-step sequencer keys on TR-808 synthesizers and are also useful for A/V equipment. They provide a tactile, clicky feel with an integrated red LED for status indication or visual feedback when pressed.
The switch is a momentary SPDT type with four legs for mechanical stability. Two pins act as common poles, connecting to one of the other pins when pressed. Note: these switches are not breadboard or perf-board friendly and require hand wiring or a PCB design.
The embedded red LED operates at 3mm size, 20mA max, and 2.1V forward voltage without built-in resistor (use approx. 1K resistor recommended). You can PWM dim or control the LED with a microcontroller.
