Description
These hinged momentary step switches are evocative of the 16-step sequencer keys on TR-808 synthesizers. Also sometimes used on A/V equipment, they're very tactile with a good clicky feel. The built-in red LED provides visual feedback and can indicate on/off status.
The switch is a momentary SPDT type with four legs for mechanical stability. Two of the legs act as common pins, connecting to one or the other of the remaining pins when pressed. This product is not breadboard or perf-board friendly and requires hand-wiring or a designed PCB.
The embedded LED is a 3mm red LED with 20mA max current and 2.1V forward voltage; no resistor is built-in, so a ~1K resistor is recommended to avoid LED burnout. The LED can be PWM dimmed or connected to a digital output.
