Witty Pi 4 HAT - RTC & Power Management for Raspberry Pi

Witty Pi 4 is an add-on board that adds real-time clock and power management to your Raspberry Pi. It enables defining your Raspberry Pi’s ON/OFF sequence and significantly reduces energy usage.

Key hardware features include:

• Factory calibrated and temperature compensated real-time clock with ±2ppm accuracy.
• Dedicated temperature sensor with 0.125 °C resolution.
• On-board DC/DC converter accepting up to 30V DC.
• AVR 8-bit microcontroller (MCU) with 8 KB programmable flash.

The real time clock (RTC) is highly accurate, allowing your Raspberry Pi to keep correct time even without internet access. This enables scheduling the startup and shutdown times, making your Raspberry Pi a time-controlled device ideal for battery-powered systems.

The temperature sensor allows for temperature-based actions, including startup or shutdown when temperature thresholds are crossed, turning the Raspberry Pi into a temperature-controlled device.

Witty Pi 4 includes a DC/DC converter, allowing power input from 6~30V or 5V via USB-C, and features an e-Latching power switch for graceful on/off operation, preventing data corruption from hard shutdowns.

Compatible with all Raspberry Pi models featuring a 40-pin GPIO header. Note that for Raspberry Pi Zero models, the header needs to be soldered beforehand.

Witty Pi 4 emulates a single I2C device (default address 0x08) that maps the RTC and temperature sensor registers, allowing flexible addressing to avoid conflicts.

Fully supported by UWI (UUGear Web Interface) for network access.
