Description
This 2.2" TFT LCD display breakout is ideal for adding a small, colorful, and bright display to any project. Featuring a 320x240 resolution with 18-bit color (262,144 colors), the display utilizes a 4-wire SPI interface with its own pixel-addressable frame buffer, making it compatible with a wide range of microcontrollers, including those with limited memory and pins.
Key advantages include a true TFT display with an ILI9341 or compatible driver chip ensuring full color and fast refresh rates, onboard 3.3V regulator, 3/5V level shifter allowing both 3.3V and 5V logic compatibility, and a built-in microSD card slot for loading full-color bitmaps from FAT16/FAT32 formatted cards (microSD not included).
The breakout board also features an 18-pin EYESPI standard FPC connector with flip-top connector for easy cabling using 0.5mm pitch FPC cables, eliminating the need for soldering.
Adafruit provides a full open-source graphics library compatible with Arduino and example code, making integration straightforward. The display includes 4 white LEDs for backlighting, which can be PWM dimmed, and the board is designed with 0.1" spaced headers for breadboarding convenience.
