Description
This 4.3" TFT screen features a high resolution of 480x272 pixels, an LED backlight, and a resistive touchscreen overlay, making it ideal for graphics-intensive user interfaces. The display includes a 40-pin connector with 8 red, 8 green, and 8 blue parallel pins, supporting 24-bit color output.
Commonly used in consumer electronics such as miniature TVs, GPS units, handheld games, and car displays, this screen is a 'raw pixel-dot-clock' type and does not include an SPI/parallel controller or onboard RAM. It requires continuous refreshing at 60Hz using a pixel clock, vertical sync, and horizontal sync signals.
Due to hardware complexity and power requirements—including a 24V constant-current boost converter for the backlight—this display is best used with the Adafruit RA8875 driver board, which manages video RAM and timing requirements effectively. Direct connection to a microcontroller is possible for advanced users but is not supported by Adafruit tutorials or hardware.
