5.0" 40-pin 800x480 TFT Display without Touchscreen

This 5.0" TFT screen features a high-resolution 800x480 pixel display with an LED backlight, offering a large color space for detailed graphics.

Commonly used in consumer electronics such as miniature TVs, GPS devices, handheld games, and car displays, the screen includes a 40-pin connector with 8 red, 8 green, and 8 blue parallel pins, capable of 24-bit color.

Note: This version does not include a touchscreen; it is the same as PID 1596 but without the resistive touch panel, making it a more affordable option.

The display is a raw pixel-dot-clock type, requiring constant refresh at 60Hz with pixel clock and sync signals. It does not have an SPI/parallel controller or internal RAM. Due to its hardware requirements, it is best used with dedicated driver boards such as the Adafruit RA8875 driver or with devices that support RGB TTL displays.

This display requires a boost converter for the backlight up to 24V, different from smaller displays that use 5V backlight drivers.

For advanced users, direct wiring to a processor is possible but not officially supported.
