Description
Simplify your project wiring with the 5V 1.8A Isolated Output Power over Ethernet (PoE) Module. This module allows you to use a single Ethernet cable for both data and power, providing a regulated 5V output at 1.8A. Featuring an isolation transformer, it ensures electrical separation between the 5V power/ground and Ethernet cables, enhancing safety and reliability.
This PoE module is compatible with Raspberry Pi 3 Model B+ and Raspberry Pi 4 boards that have the 4-wire header for power input. Easily connect Ethernet wires to the module using female-female jumper wires and supply 5V back to your board via two output wires.
Key Features:
- Isolated PoE output providing electrical separation for safety
- Regulated 5V output with 1.8A nominal current
- Compatible with Raspberry Pi 3 B+ and Raspberry Pi 4 PoE pins
- Wide input voltage range from 42 to 55 VDC (48V nominal)
- Efficient power conversion with around 80% efficiency
- Compact PCB with 4 or 6 pins soldered in
Technical Specifications:
- Input Voltage Range: 42 to 55 VDC (48 V nominal)
- Output Voltage Range: 4.75 to 5.25 V (5V nominal)
- Output Current: 1.8A nominal
- Efficiency: 80%
Usage Instructions:
- Connect pins 1 and 2 to Ethernet wires 4 and 5
- Connect pins 3 and 4 to Ethernet wires 7 and 8
- Pin labeled (-) is ground output
- Pin labeled (+) is 5V output
For Raspberry Pi users without access to PoE pins, consider the 5V microUSB PoE splitter for easier integration. This module complements the range of PoE products offered by Adafruit, including a non-isolated version for non-critical applications.
