Description
The 8-Channel PWM or Servo FeatherWing is an add-on board that adds 8 channels of 12-bit PWM outputs to any Feather board via I2C. Perfect for controlling servos, LEDs, or other PWM-controlled devices, it enables layered and expandable hardware setups with support for stacking up to 62 wings on a single I2C bus.
Key features include a built-in clock for free-running PWM operation, 5V compliance for controlling output voltage up to 6V safely from a 3.3V Feather board, adjustable PWM frequency up to approximately 1.6 KHz, and 12-bit resolution providing precise control suitable for servo motors. The board includes address select pins for stacking and customizable output configurations for push-pull or open-drain operation.
The FeatherWing is designed with practical extras such as a terminal block for power input with reverse polarity protection, a green power-good LED, 220 ohm series resistors on each output line for LED protection, and a place for a large capacitor to stabilize power. Assembly requires light soldering to install headers and customize the board for your application.
