Description
The Adafruit 12 x Capacitive Touch Shield for Arduino is an interactive shield featuring 12 capacitive touch sensors, allowing your Arduino projects to react to human touch. It is perfect for creating touch-reactive devices like touchpads, control panels, and musical instruments.
Capacitive touch sensing works by detecting when a person or animal has touched one of the sensor electrodes. This shield makes it easy to add touch sensitivity with up to 12 individual sensors.
- 12 'figure 8' holes to connect with alligator clips for easy sensor input from conductive or water-filled objects like fruits and vegetables.
- Uses I2C pins (SCL & SDA) for simple connection to any Arduino.
- Compatible with the MPR121 12-Key Capacitive Touch Sensor Breakout, using the same library and code.
- Includes a stick of 36-pin headers for soldering to the shield PCB.
- Updated PCB with configurable I2C pullup solder jumper for compatibility with modern 3V Arduino boards.
This kit requires light through-hole soldering to attach headers. It does not include Arduino board, alligator clips, or any conductive objects like fruit.
Perfect for creating innovative projects such as a vegetable keyboard or capacitive touch drum machine by pairing with an Arduino Leonardo or Music Maker shield.
