Description

If you're looking for a bright, readable OLED display for a Raspberry Pi project, the Adafruit 2.23" Monochrome OLED Bonnet for Raspberry Pi provides a vivid display with its 2.13" diagonal monochrome 128x32 OLED screen featuring sharp white pixels.

This bonnet uses the I2C pins plus GPIO #4 for reset, leaving you ample GPIO connections available for additional components like buttons, LEDs, and sensors. It mounts flat on Raspberry Pi computers with a 2x20 connector, including Pi B+, Pi 2, Pi 3, Pi 4, Pi 5, and Pi Zero models.

Compared to the similar PiOLED display, this OLED is larger, enhancing visibility from across a room. It emits its own light, requiring no backlight, resulting in high contrast and reduced power consumption. The display supports up to 30 FPS, enabling animations and simple video via our Python SSD1305 library.

The bonnet comes fully assembled and tested for easy plug-and-play use with Raspberry Pi. It also includes a Qwiic/STEMMA QT connector for easy connection to I2C sensors and devices, supporting Adafruit's STEMMA QT accessories.

Note that OLED pixels may dim after 1000 hours of continuous use; to maintain brightness, turn off the display when not in use.
