Description
The Adafruit ANO Rotary Navigation Encoder to I2C Stemma QT Adapter is an easy-to-use rotary encoder breakout board with an onboard microcontroller running seesaw firmware. This version comes with the rotary encoder pre-soldered, requiring no additional soldering for use.
Features include:
- Rotary encoder with built-in push button
- Breakout with I2C interface for easy connection using Stemma QT compatible cables
- Onboard microcontroller tracks encoder pulses and button states
- Configurable interrupt pin for event detection without polling
- Four solder jumpers to change I2C address
- Compatible with 3 to 5V DC power and logic levels
- Works with Arduino, Raspberry Pi, and other microcontrollers with I2C
This adapter simplifies connecting the ANO rotary encoder by providing a smart I2C interface that handles the rotary encoding and button presses, saving the incremental value for querying at any time.
Use the Adafruit Arduino seesaw library or their CircuitPython/Python library to integrate with your projects.
Note: This device is intended for hand-rotated mechanical encoders and is not designed for high-speed motor encoders.
