Description
The Adafruit ATECC608 Breakout Board is a compact crypto-authentication chip breakout with STEMMA QT / Qwiic connectors designed for secure key storage and cryptographic operations. It provides strong hardware security features to keep your private keys safe with a challenge-response mechanism that prevents secret key extraction even if the device firmware is accessible.
This breakout uses the latest Microchip ATECC608 chip which supports ECDH, AES-128 encrypt/decrypt/signing, hardware random number generation, SHA-256, and HMAC hashing, making it ideal for IoT and security-conscious projects. The board is compatible with 3.3V or 5V power/logic and connects via I2C (fixed address 0x60) with recommended 400kHz bus speed for reliability.
The board includes required support circuitry and a STEMMA QT connector for easy plug-and-play compatibility with other STEMMA QT / Qwiic enabled boards and peripherals without soldering.
