Description

Connect your Arduino to the Internet with the FCC-certified Adafruit ATWINC1500 WiFi Breakout module. This 802.11bgn-capable WiFi module offers robust networking performance with SSL support and reliable operation, as demonstrated by running the adafruit.io MQTT demo continuously without issues.

The breakout communicates using SPI with about 6 wires, compatible with Arduino M0 and M4 boards. It clocks up to 12MHz for fast data streaming and supports rapid scanning and connecting to 802.11b, g, or n networks. Encryption protocols supported include WEP, WPA, and WPA2, with TLS 1.2 support on firmware 19.4.4 for secure connections. Additionally, the module can operate in Soft AP mode to create an ad-hoc network.

Featuring built-in level shifting on all inputs, the breakout works with both 3V and 5V logic. A 3.3V voltage regulator accommodates power from 3-5.5VDC and can handle 300mA spikes. It includes three controllable LEDs indicating WiFi status (connected, transmitting data) operable via the SPI interface or Arduino library.

The package includes a stick of header for soldering to a breadboard, along with tutorials and example code to get started. Dimensioned at 33mm x 28mm x 4mm and weighing 4.4g, this compact module is a superior replacement for CC3000 modules in your projects.
