Description
If you've ever wanted eight 10-bit DACs packed into a single module, the Adafruit DAC6578 Breakout is the perfect solution. This breakout board features the DAC6578 chip with eight 10-bit DAC channels controllable via I2C, suitable for a wide range of voltage setting needs.
The DAC6578 breakout supports 3.3V or 5V power and logic. The DAC output is ratiometric: 0 corresponds to ground, and 4095 corresponds to the reference voltage (Vref). By default, Vref is tied to the power pin, but it can be adjusted to any voltage between ground and the power pin by cutting a jumper. For example, a precision 4.095V reference can be achieved by powering with 5V and supplying 4.095V to the Vref pin.
This breakout comes populated with required supporting circuitry and features SparkFun Qwiic compatible STEMMA QT JST SH connectors, making it easy to connect and share an I2C bus with other compatible sensors and devices. Note that STEMMA QT cables are not included but available separately.
Extensive drivers, wiring diagrams, and example code for Arduino, CircuitPython, and Python are available to help you get started quickly with your project.
