Description

The Adafruit DVI Breakout Board is designed to work with HDMI source devices, such as the Raspberry Pi Pico using the RP2040's PIO system for generating video output. This low-cost breakout board facilitates connection by providing an HDMI/DVI port with 220 ohm series resistors.

This board contains no active components. There is a spot for I2C EEPROM and resistors for advanced users wanting to create a 'sink' device with an EDID, but these are not installed as the board is intended as a source only.

Wiring instructions for Raspberry Pi Pico include connections for differential pairs GP12 to GP19 as digital video output signals, with grounds connected together.

Great for demos or experimenting with digital video generation on cost-effective microcontroller platforms.

  • Connects HDMI/DVI cable input with 220 ohm series resistors
  • No active components on board
  • Optional EEPROM area for advanced EDID features (not populated)
  • Designed for use as a video source device
  • Compatible with Raspberry Pi Pico and other RP2040 boards with PIO capabilities

See the Primary Guide and download example code for video output demos.
